First sod
Not long after our solemn little ceremony, Hubby was calling for some Aeroguard and as I was heading out to deliver it, I could hear him singing at the top of his lungs. I can see that he and Digger are a winning combination and Hubby is in an extremely satisfying zone right now.
A great combination
The weather has been perfection, our delivery of compost arrived when it was supposed to (ahh, the pungent bouquet of manure), and this first big job of preparation of the soil for a long boundary of Vibernum Dense Fence is progressing apace, with endless gratitude that this work doesn't have to be done by hand and shovel. This ground is hard, so every new addition to the Bountiful garden will need to have its soil loved on and prepared for new life.
So glad the digging isn't by hand!
One of the satisfying things about this Bountiful journey has been seeing the way that it has brought out Hubby's creative side. I've always loved my gardening, but he is the one with the ability to see the much bigger picture and I'm getting so much joy from seeing him light up and dig in (no pun intended but its suits, doesn't it?) 😏 It isn't just my project or his, it's ours. It's the best fun and I am so thankful.
A view of our clay soil that you wouldn't get everyday!
Trench? What trench? Manure now dug in and soil replaced, ready for planting seedlings next month.
Thanks to the Back to the Future trilogy of movies, the word 'manure' conjures up visions of villainous Biff Tannen and his all-too-close encounters with manure 💩 Enjoy this clip from Back to the Future 2 as once again Biff, hero Marty McFly and a skateboard of sorts do battle.
